HOW WE WORK

A structured model of cooperation

Governance, professional management and a public-private alliance serving the entire leather value chain

STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE

A structure in the service of cooperation

Without governance there is no cluster: trust is the foundation on which our entire model is built.

The cluster brings together companies from across the value chain (tanneries, manufacturers and specialist suppliers), knowledge centres such as technology centres, universities and R&D groups, and institutions ranging from public administration to sector bodies. Membership is formalised through a regulated process that entails an active commitment to the project and the payment of a membership fee.

A professional team handles day-to-day management, drives the cluster’s strategy and develops its projects. The Board of Directors, made up of representatives of companies, centres and institutions, approves its decisions and ensures that they serve the common interest of the sector.

MEMBERSHIP

How to join the cluster

Membership of Leather Cluster Barcelona is formalised through a regulated process that reflects the mutual commitment between the cluster and its members.

Each new organisation makes an active commitment to the collective project and contributes to its upkeep through a membership fee.

In return, it joins a network that spans the entire value chain, takes part in collaborative projects and adds its voice to the influence of an organised sector.
