With Leather Cluster Barcelona, designers, artisans and fashion brands showcase their leather products at the Adoberia Bella
Once again, for the fourth consecutive edition, REC.0 has its own dedicated space: la Pell del Rec.
REC.0 was born in November 2009 at the hands of a group of six people committed to the Rec neighbourhood, who wanted to make it known to as many people as possible and link it with the creativity of the fashion world. After several editions, REC.0 has become a leading fashion, heritage and culture event in Catalonia, held twice a year: in May and in November.
In a space located at the cluster’s headquarters, the Adoberia Bella, la Pell del Rec gives visibility to leather designers, artisans and fashion brands, which have exhibited and sold their articles at Catalonia’s most important fashion festival.
As in every edition, the LaGaspar Municipal School of Art and Design in Igualada played a prominent role in the Pell del Rec event. In this edition, the centre took the opportunity to present its new Higher Vocational Training Course in Leather Techniques, an innovative training offering that responds to the sector’s current needs and seeks to strengthen specialised training in the field of leather and design.
In addition, within the exhibition space, visitors were able to see some of the creative pieces from the XtremKuir challenge, an educational project that promotes sustainability and the reuse of materials through design. The pieces on display were made from reused leather offcuts, highlighting the circularity and creativity of LaGaspar’s students. This initiative helped showcase the potential of emerging talent and the centre’s commitment to innovation and respect for the environment.
Also in the Pell del Rec space, during REC.0 visitors were able to find leather articles, accessories and fashion accessories from the following brands:
Leather Hug Belts: the brand of belts handmade by Toni Gabarró, an artisan passionate about leather and about his work. A brand that embraces sustainability by transforming surplus leather into unique, highly stylish belts. Belts made by hand with love, attention to detail and respect for the planet, giving leather a second life.
Nubuckcuir: at the hands of artisan Mon Soler, the brand’s founder, Nubuckcuir combines design with values and local craftsmanship with local, conscious and circular production. Unique pieces of artisanal leather goods created with soul and a responsible outlook that unites aesthetics and commitment.
Sominemi: the essence of Sominemi is based on the quality of the leather from our local tanners and on the artisan tradition of making leather garments. They offer an exclusive product, treating each piece throughout the entire manufacturing process as something unique. Sominemi takes the craftsmanship of leather garment making to the highest level.
Dosper: a brand where beauty is combined with functionality. Leather pieces designed for everyday life and for special occasions. Collections made with attention to detail and their own identity. Responsible production and lasting style. Designs with timeless elegance and versatility.
Platadepalo: a jewellery and accessories brand with character and authenticity. Jewellery and accessories with elegance and a soul of their own. Handmade designs, created with passion and identity. Every Platadepalo piece is unique, combining fine materials such as leather with a style that reflects adventure, freedom and a passion for craftsmanship and responsible production.
Carner Barcelona: salty breeze, caressing sun and memories that linger on the skin. Such are the perfumes of Carner Barcelona: emotions in their purest state, with a Mediterranean soul and the essence of a territory. At La Pell del Rec, we celebrated leather in all its forms, and Carner provided the aroma: elegant, warm and authentic.
Furthermore, for REC.0 the Adoberia Bella, headquarters of Leather Cluster Barcelona, was dressed up for the occasion and decorated with visual elements and informational material to champion leather as an example of the circular economy and sustainable fashion.
Leather Cluster Barcelona is an environment of competitive cooperation for promoting cross-cutting, transformative strategic projects with the aim of driving forward the ecosystem of the Catalan leather sector within the framework of Shared Value policies. The cluster is an accredited body within the Catalonia Clusters programme and has the support of Acció.
