Founded in 1971, Sañudo is a family workshop that has devoted a lifetime to leather and has distinguished itself through its attitude to work and its dedication to the artisan's craft. Made up of father and son, Pedro and Julián Sañudo, the Sañudo workshop has become a benchmark in leatherwork in Catalonia.

From 1997 to the present day, their workshop has been located in the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, one of the most important tourist attractions in the Catalan capital. The workshop is the heart of the whole Sañudo Artesania project; it is the artisan's calling card.

From the workshop they carry out their artisan work and it is there that they sell their leather products directly. The premises are divided into an internal working area, not open to the public but visible at all times, and the exhibition and shop area. Sañudo has worked hard to create a different kind of space: comfortable and functional for the artisans, accessible and charismatic for visitors.

Always exploring, Sañudo Artesania also stands out for its artistic work in natural leather. Pictures, sculptures, wood, iron, leather, hide. Over years of study and experimentation, Sañudo Artesania has developed a language of its own, applying decorative techniques to leather and turning them into works of art. The art of recycling, engraved geometric figures, applications of stones and minerals, different techniques and materials for its artistic creations in leather, with occasional collaborations with other artisan artists.

Sañudo's artistic works are held in private collections all over the world and in recent years they have taken part in international projects in Argentina, Germany, China and Japan, among other countries.

Sañudo Artesania makes all its knowledge and the workshop's facilities available for training courses and activities, both for people wishing to take up artisan leatherwork and for those wanting to carry out a project.

Pedro and Julián Sañudo collaborate on training and employment integration projects, taking on young people as interns, apprentices or volunteers, and they regularly host young people on placements under the European Union's Erasmus+ programme.
