Palomeras y Gambús is a family business whose origins date back to 1981, led by Jordi Palomeras, a member of the second generation at the head of the company. Its main activity is the collection of fresh hides, which are subsequently sorted meticulously through fresh selection and trimming, thereby beginning a process that may end in different finishes, according to the needs of its manufacturing customers and their end market.

The company currently processes some 450,000 hides a year, a figure that places it among the leading suppliers in Europe's leather sector.

Each of the 450,000 hides processed every year is carefully collected through the company's own logistics operation, which looks after the raw material from the moment it leaves the abattoirs, so that it can begin its journey towards being put to perfect use.

The hides that arrive at the Palomeras y Gambús facilities are chilled and thoroughly prepared for treatment. At this point a careful process of classification and quality control begins, so that each individual hide is given the most suitable destination for its transformation.

Each selected hide is processed according to the needs of the company's customers. It may therefore be salted and/or desalted, tanned in accordance with strict quality control and environmental protocols, or processed into a wet blue or wet white finish, always depending on its final destination.

The company's products are currently shipped to more than 130 customers in 15 different countries, mainly European, with considerable influence in the luxury leather goods and high-end upholstery sectors.
