Leather Cluster Barcelona returns to Première Vision

The Catalan leather ecosystem present at the Paris fashion trade fair

From 17 to 19 September, Leather Cluster Barcelona once again exhibited at the Première Vision Paris trade fair, the major international event for fashion professionals held in the French capital.

Première Vision is a major trade fair bringing together the main complementary sectors of the fashion world in terms of offer, know-how and services in Paris, its world capital. The fair holds two editions a year: in February, to present the following year’s spring-summer collections, and in September, for the autumn-winter ones.

More than 2,000 exhibitors from 48 countries took part in this September edition, which was visited by some 60,000 fashion professionals from around the world.

At the Leather Cluster Barcelona stand at Première Vision Paris, particular prominence was given to the centres that provide training, research and innovation to the leather sector: the Igualada University Campus-UdL, the Gaspar Camps School of Art and Design and the A3 Leather Innovation Center research centre.

On this occasion, a group of tanners took part by contributing leather samples to the stand: Splenda de Miguel Farrés Rojas, Morera Pell and Despell.

In addition to the Leather Cluster Barcelona corporate stand, seven cluster members were represented in Paris with their own stands: Aqpel, Combalia, Badia, Castañer, Grup Miret, La Doma and Riba Guixà.

Leather Cluster Barcelona is the global, cross-cutting network made up of some 50 companies and organisations from the value chain of the Catalan leather industry. The cluster has its capital in Igualada and its headquarters at the Adoberia Bella, the European Centre for the Interpretation of Quality Leather.

In a unique ecosystem of cooperation between business, education and science around leather, the main objective of Leather Cluster Barcelona is to combine, coordinate and energise the efforts of all the companies and stakeholders in the Catalan leather sector, in order to increase their competitiveness, improve their efficiency and drive the growth of their joint business.
