From 8 to 11 May, Igualada hosted Catalonia's benchmark fashion, heritage and culture event: REC.0 Experimental Stores.

For the second year running, Leather Cluster Barcelona took part in REC.0 with its own space: la Pell del Rec. With la Pell del Rec at Adoberia Bella, the cluster wants to give visibility to its craft, design and leather fashion members.

The space was inaugurated by the councillors of Igualada Town Council, Jordi Marcè and Pere Camps, who, together with the president of the leather cluster, Bernat Vilarrubias, highlighted the value of the leather industry and its entire value chain.

During REC.0, the following members exhibited their leather articles and accessories at the cluster's headquarters:

  • Nquart Leather
  • Dosper
  • Evegé Leather
  • LeatherHug
  • Nubuckcuir Leather bags
  • Puntotres
  • Sominemi

In this edition, the La Gaspar Municipal School of Art and Design in Igualada prepared an interesting infographic about leather and its industry. Various stands were set up around Adoberia Bella with questions inviting visitors to answer according to their age group, comparing the answers with Leather Cluster Barcelona's information panels.

In addition, for this event the cluster's headquarters was dressed up for the occasion and decorated with visual elements and information material to champion leather as an example of the circular economy and of sustainable fashion.

As well as the la Pell del Rec space, the cluster collaborated with the Igualada Leather Museum, taking part in the REC.0 programme with various cultural activities: guided tours, talks and historical routes.

Finally, it is also worth noting that, together with Movex, the leather technology centre of Ubrique, Leather Cluster Barcelona once again organised a multisensory immersive experience through a “Blind leather and wine tasting” with Celler Pla de Morei.

Leather Cluster Barcelona is an environment of competitive cooperation for promoting cross-cutting, transformative strategic projects with the aim of driving the ecosystem of the Catalan leather sector within the framework of Shared Value policies. The cluster is an entity accredited under the Catalonia Clusters programme and is supported by Acció.
