Leather Cluster Barcelona holds its 2021 Ordinary General Assembly

On 28 June, the cluster held its 2021 Ordinary General Assembly online. Its Board of Directors had met beforehand, also during that month.

At the assembly, chaired by Jordi Vidal, executive director of Leather Cluster Barcelona, the activities and actions carried out during 2020 were reviewed, highlighting the cluster’s support and guidance during lockdown to stand by its members and the leather sector. Several projects were also highlighted, such as the circular economy project on the valorisation of hair with the fertiliser company Labin and the collaboration of the Unió Empresarial de l’Anoia, and the project on the perception of the leather sector’s image, which Leather Cluster Barcelona, with the support of Acció (Ministry of Business and Knowledge), worked on for months with one of the international benchmark companies in communication and strategy: Ogilvy.

The economic and management report was then presented, after which the 2020 accounts and the 2021 budget were approved.

During the assembly, the projects and objectives planned for 2021 were also announced, together with the main lines of the strategic plan.

The members unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to the sustainable use of natural resources, minimal environmental impact in production, and efficient management of the waste generated by the leather sector.
