The cluster shares its strategic lines for 2026 with members and acknowledges the contribution of two leading figures of the sector as it embarks on a new stage for the future
On 19 June, Leather Cluster Barcelona held its Ordinary General Assembly, a meeting that made it possible to share with member companies the review of the activity carried out during the past financial year and to present the main lines of action planned for 2026.
During the session, the annual accounts, the activity plan and the organisation’s budget were approved, in a context marked by the new strategic stage that the cluster is entering with the rollout of the 2025-2030 Master Plan. This roadmap should make it possible to strengthen the role of Leather Cluster Barcelona as an instrument of competitiveness, innovation, sustainability, internationalisation and value generation for the entire value chain of the leather industry in Catalonia.
The Assembly also served to highlight the cluster’s determination to move towards an organisation increasingly geared to real impact for its members, with a greater capacity to generate collaborative projects, consolidate strategic alliances, strengthen the sector’s positioning at national and European level, and contribute to the transformation of an industry with a long tradition and great potential for the future.
The day had a particularly moving moment in its closing stages with the recognition of two people who have been closely linked to the development of Leather Cluster Barcelona for many years: Jaume Suriñach, of the company Adobinve, and Carles Riba, of Riba Guixà, on the occasion of their retirement.
Both have been active members of the Board of Directors and have contributed, with their experience, dedication and commitment, to the growth and consolidation of the organisation, as well as to strengthening the representation of the leather sector in Catalonia. Their careers reflect the values of cooperation, business involvement and sectoral commitment that have made it possible to build the ecosystem that the cluster represents today.
At Leather Cluster Barcelona we wish to express our most sincere gratitude to Jaume Suriñach and Carles Riba for their constant involvement, their generosity and their good work throughout all these years. Their contribution has been fundamental in consolidating a space for collaboration between companies, institutions and knowledge stakeholders, geared to driving the competitiveness and profile of the Catalan leather industry.
Thank you for your dedication, for your confidence in the project and for having left a mark that will continue to be part of the history of Leather Cluster Barcelona.
Leather Cluster Barcelona is an environment of competitive cooperation for promoting cross-cutting and transformative strategic projects with the aim of driving forward the ecosystem of the Catalan leather sector within the framework of Shared Value policies.
