The event highlighted, among others, the projects linked to leather goods and leather production

On Thursday 19 June, the Kiosk del Rec in Igualada hosted LaGaspar Design Fest 2025, the closing event of the 2024/25 academic year of the LaGaspar School of Art and Design in Igualada.

The event, which was attended by Leather Cluster Barcelona, highlighted projects linked to leather goods and leather production in Igualada, the LaGaspar inLoft artistic residency, work in advertising graphics and an editorial project on Queer culture, among others.

As regards specialised training in leather, LaGaspar Design Fest recognised the talent of the different training pathways with the award of prizes for the best projects. The quality and excellence of the work was outstanding in all the specialities. The students of the Degree in Leather Craftsmanship shone in particular: the intermediate level responded with great creativity to the challenge set by Louis Vuitton, and the higher level presented final projects inspired by the work of the Igualada artist Gaspar Camps. A display of craft, sensitivity and young talent.

Indeed, the event closed with a tribute to the figure who gives the school its name, Gaspar Camps i Junyent, some of whose works were revisited, both by bringing them into the world of 2025 graphics and by reworking the illustrations with artificial intelligence and mobile devices.
