The online workshop project has produced 28 tutorial videos on leather craftsmanship

In December 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, the Museu de la Pell d’Igualada launched the Creactiva’t al Museu online programme so that families could continue with the activities scheduled by the Museum, but virtually from their own homes.

The project, run in collaboration with the La Gaspar municipal school of art and design in Igualada and Leather Cluster Barcelona, consisted of online workshops on leather craftsmanship.

The leather artisans had to present the design and manufacture of an item that was easy to make and explain it in a video lasting little more than a minute.

After three years full of experiences, 28 videos have been produced and the project has given considerable visibility to the leather designers and artisans of our area.

The final piece closing the cycle is a little leather dove of peace to decorate the home or the Christmas tree.

The piece was designed by Mon Soler of Nubuckcuir leather bags, a leather designer and artisan and a cluster member whose workshop is very close to Igualada.

Leather Cluster Barcelona donated the leather for the project, and in this particular workshop leather from Fontanellas & Martí was used.
