To lead this new stage, a 2025-2030 Master Plan has been drawn up that will set out the cluster's strategic lines for the coming years

At the beginning of this month of April, Jordi Vidal, until now Cluster Manager, announced his decision to take on new professional challenges and therefore brings his time at Leather Cluster Barcelona to an end. From the Catalan leather cluster, we wish to express to Jordi our gratitude for his dedication, his commitment and the contributions he has made during these eight years at the head of the association.

Bernat Vilarrubias, president of Leather Cluster Barcelona, will propose Mònica Santamans as the new Cluster Manager at the next Board of Directors meeting scheduled for May.

A professional with a long career and experience both in the private sector and in Public Administration, Mònica Santamans joined the structure of Leather Cluster Barcelona as Project Manager in 2019. Over these years she has demonstrated her worth and professionalism, her organisational competence and her ability to work as part of a team. At Leather Cluster Barcelona she has been responsible for energising the cluster, developing activities, organising events and carrying out internal and external projects.

President Bernat Vilarrubias, together with Mònica Santamans, is carrying out a reorganisation of the Cluster's structure in order to guarantee a stable team of three professionals. In this regard, the new Cluster manager will have the support of Project Managers Jonatan Cuadrado and Carla Vélez, who joined in September 2024.

With a view to this new stage, the 2025-2030 Master Plan has been drawn up, which will set out the strategic and priority lines for the development of the Cluster in the coming years. This plan, led by the new management, has been designed taking into account the current and future needs of the member companies, with a clear focus on results, competitiveness and collective impact. The document defines specific objectives, priority areas of action and new approaches to strengthen the Cluster's positioning both nationally and internationally.

The 2025-2030 Master Plan is already in its initial roll-out phase and will be presented in detail at the next meeting of the Board of Directors, scheduled for May. That session will also set out the proposals for continuity and the new lines of action.

In the meantime, the Leather Cluster Barcelona team continues to work on the current projects and on attracting new initiatives, both within the framework of ACCIÓ and in other national and European spheres, with the aim of consolidating and expanding the value we offer to member companies.

With this new impetus and strategic vision, Leather Cluster Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to the leather sector and to all its members, in order to continue being a driver of collaboration, innovation and shared growth.

Leather Cluster Barcelona is an environment of competitive cooperation for promoting cross-cutting, transformative strategic projects with the aim of driving the ecosystem of the Catalan leather sector within the framework of Shared Value policies. The cluster is an entity accredited under the Catalonia Clusters programme and is supported by Acció.
