On Tuesday 17 December, an Extraordinary General Assembly of Leather Cluster Barcelona was held at Adoberia Bella.

The day was attended by a large number of members, which confirms the cluster's position as a benchmark for the leather sector value chain and as a source of inspiration for strategic thinking.

In this regard, the members of Leather Cluster Barcelona, convened in Assembly, held a strategic immersion day, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities ahead and on how the Catalan leather sector can become more relevant and competitive in a global market.

As an introduction to the day, participants reviewed the status of the ongoing projects and of the support received through public grants, within each of Leather Cluster Barcelona's strategic lines of action: circular economy, sustainability, talent, innovation, good practices (including animal welfare and traceability), and image projection (brand, communication and internationalisation), on the basis of shared value.

With its firm commitment to moving towards Zero Waste, the cluster is driving a significant number of projects that together make up a decarbonisation programme for the leather sector.

In a highly participatory strategic immersion session, driven by its members, Leather Cluster Barcelona is consolidating its position as the leather sector's think tank and as a benchmark not only for its leadership in driving projects forward but also for its advanced, strategic thinking in terms of sustainability, innovation, craftsmanship, quality and other key values.

In a shared value spirit, before the start of the Assembly, Judit Alemany of the Fundació Privada Àuria presented the Specialised Integration Service (SIE), which aims to promote the labour market integration of people with disabilities.

The day ended with the cluster's members raising a glass of cava to celebrate Christmas and wish one another a happy 2025.
