Collaboration agreement for practical training between La Gaspar and Leather Cluster Barcelona

The La Gaspar municipal school of art and design in Igualada and the cluster have recently signed a collaboration agreement for the completion of training placements in the workplace.

The La Gaspar municipal school of art and design delivers official studies in the intermediate vocational training cycles (Assistance with printed graphic products and Craftsmanship of leather accessories) and in the higher vocational training cycle (Advertising Graphics and Audiovisual Graphics), together with an extensive offering for all ages within its Open School programme.

Under the collaboration agreement for practical training, La Gaspar students will be able to put their professional skills into practice at Leather Cluster Barcelona.

Marta Robles Hernández, a student of graphic and audiovisual communication at La Gaspar, is the first student to formalise such a placement.

Under the direction of the cluster’s management team, Marta will carry out a plan of practical training activities directly related to her field of study. Specifically, she will work as a professional integrated into the cluster’s team, supporting the communication plan by proposing and developing audiovisual graphics projects.

Leather Cluster Barcelona is working proactively on communication with the aim of providing a complementary and enriching perspective on the current perception that a significant part of society has of leather, often biased as a result of campaigns waged against leather by activists and other sectors in defence of their own interests.

In this regard, Leather Cluster Barcelona is developing a range of key messages, narrative and content pillars in order to highlight leather as a benchmark for the circular economy and sustainable fashion.

The Leather Cluster Barcelona communication plan has one main communicative action, which the cluster is currently implementing and in which the conception and production of audiovisual graphics projects contributed by Marta Robles of La Gaspar will play a significant role.

It is an educational campaign delivered through short informative capsules on social media, presenting arguments, data and images about the leather sector with the aim of contributing to calm, considered reflection and breaking down the mistaken stereotypes that part of society holds about leather and its industry.
